Article: Cullen tourist office praised

A Top tourism expert was in Cullen this week to help a group of volunteers mark a decade of work in the industry.

It is the 10th year that a group of town residents have volunteered their time during the summer months to man a tourist office at the town hall.

The Cullen Tourism Initiative was launched in 1996 when the then Aberdeen and Grampian Tourist Board closed up the local branch.

This week, Ian Dunlop, director of Visit Scotland for the Aberdeen and Grampian area, was at the tourist point to officially launch its summer season.

The office was originally run by the community council, before a special committee was set up to take on the job.
