Article: Death of former north regional junior football president

Tributes have been paid to a stalwart of junior football in the north-east who has lost his fight against cancer.

Charlie Grant, 70, a former president of the North Regional Junior Football Association, died at his Aberdeen home on Monday. A spokesman for the association described him last night as a prominent official during the 80s and early-90s who left an indelible mark on the game.

Aberdeen-born Mr Grant, of Cameron Road, Bridge of Don, was also a member of the Scottish Junior Football Association, representing the north region for 11 years.
