A Team of Scottish astronomers have discovered two new planets the
size of Jupiter deep in space.
Stargazers from the school of physics and astronomy at St Andrews
University have found the planets using a budget search technique
that hunts for stars orbiting planets, causing them to flash or
"wink".
The St Andrews team is part of an international collaboration
which found the new planets around stars over 1,000 light years away
in the constellation of Andromeda and about 500 light years away in
Delphinus.
Leading the St Andrews project is Professor Andrew Collier Cameron
and with several other UK institutions his team is using wide-angle
lenses and cameras to survey millions of stars.
