Article: Flybe's takeover of BA routes boosts airports

Low-cost airline Flybe yesterday revealed plans for a massive expansion of routes out of Aberdeen and Inverness on the back of the planned takeover of British Airways' loss-making regional business BA Connect.

Flybe also expects to create hundreds of new jobs at the two Scottish airports.

The budget carrier currently flies three routes from the Granite City - Belfast City, Exeter and Leeds Bradford - with a service to Birmingham due to start in March.

Flybe's first Inverness route - to Belfast City - gets off the ground next month.
