Scottish Football League officials are confident the Challenge Cup tournament will keep running for several years.

Ross County won this season's final on Sunday, beating Clyde 5-4 on penalties after the sides shared a 1-1 draw in Perth.

But the match was watched by just 4,062, the lowest attendance at the final since its inception in 1990.

Since Bell's ended its seven-year sponsorship of the lower leagues in the summer, there has been speculation whether the SFL can afford to keep staging the Challenge Cup.
