A Woman and her pounds96,000 Mercedes landed in deep water after
her satellite navigation system guided her into a river.
She was driving to a christening when the satellite navigation
system sent her down a winding track, which was signposted unsuitable
for motor vehicles.
Following the device's instructions perhaps a little too closely,
she then steered the car into the River Sense, in Sheepy Magna,
Leicestershire.
Witnesses saw the SL500 swept 200 metres downstream, bouncing from
one bank to the other. The 28-year-old driver was eventually hauled
to safety by villager Alice Clark, who held on to a log to stay
afloat as she waded through the water.
