The Toronto Blue Jays arrive at Camden Yards for this weekend's
series with the Baltimore Orioles having done many of the things
they were supposed to have done. What they haven't done in this
season's 53 games is win a pennant or a World Series and what they
haven't done is shake the perception that they're baseball's premier
underachievers, a team that wins and wins between April and
September, then fades into the sunset when the playoffs begin.
Sports can be cruel and few teams have been stuck with crueler
tags. The Blue Jays have won more games than any team in baseball
the last nine seasons, but that's not what a lot of people remember.
