Residents of Skye are rallying behind the island's only remaining
riding centre after its operators were given an eviction notice this
week.
The Skye Riding Centre at Suledale, near Bernisdale, attracts
around 10,000 visitors a year and has a popular club for young
riders.
But the absentee tenant of the crofts where the centre runs has
given operator Malcolm Herbert less than a month to vacate the land.
Trudi Robertson, who started the riding centre, left the area
three years ago but sub-let the croft to Mr Herbert without
permission from the Crofters Commission, which regulates crofting.
Locals have criticised the Crofters Commission for failing to step
in and have now set up a campaign ...
