A multimillion-pound development which could transform Aviemore
and create hundreds of jobs was officially unveiled yesterday.
Business leaders claim the new offices and new supermarket could
help sustain a thriving, year-round economy in the village, which is
heavily reliant on tourism.
Developer Aviemore Highland Resorts says the pounds80million
proposals, which also include housing, could support 300 long-term
jobs, and 200 in the construction phase.
It comes just months after Donald MacDonald, executive chairman of
MacDonald Hotels - one of the partners in AHR - called for
decisive action from planners, claiming a "planning impasse" was
holding up development in Aviemore.
