A man was seriously ill in hospital last night after suffering
head injuries in a crash on one of the north-east's most notorious
roads.
The 45-year-old was at the wheel of a Toyota Hilux 4x4 which left
the A947 and somersaulted into a field.
Two passengers in the vehicle - a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-
old man - were also taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
It is understood their injuries were less serious. The trio are
all from the Buckie area.
The accident happened around 5.45am yesterday on the Aberdeen-
Banff route, just north of Oldmeldrum.
