A New report has claimed that 90% of people feel that those who
are blind should receive the same level of support as wheelchair
users.
The Omnimas survey carried out on behalf of the Royal National
Institute of Blind People (RNIB) says that nine out of 10 people back
their quest to increase the benefits paid to blind people.
The charity is calling for a change to the Disability Living
Allowance, the benefit that helps disabled people with the cost of
getting out and about.
Currently blind people can only receive pounds17 a week, whereas
wheelchair users can receive pounds45 a week.
