A Schoolboy who claims exposure to toxic waste caused his painful
birth defects is facing a second amputation.
George Taylor, 15, of Pitmedden, near Ellon, was dealt the
devastating news as his solicitors lodged a pounds150,000 damages
claim at the High Court in London.
He is one of more than 20 young people who claim their ill
health is linked to mismanagement of dangerous waste dumps at a
redundant steel works.
George, a pupil at Meldrum Academy, has already lost a finger on
his right hand.
And next week he will meet surgeons to go over possible
amputation procedures for a second finger and thumb on the same hand.
