Article: Full steam ahead for the Torbay express

The golden age of steam captured the imaginations of the region this month when a classic railway returned by popular demand.

The Torbay Express, run by Past-Time Rail, is made up solely of 1950s carriages, giving visitors a flavour of train travel from a bygone era.

The railway proved extremely popular last year and has returned this summer with a larger programme which sees it run on ten dates throughout in the run-up to September. Passengers are able to travel between Bristol and the English Riviera, in South Devon, taking in the sights and sounds of Somerset and Devon along the way.
