An auction of more than 700 lots from Agatha Christie's former
Westcountry home has attracted interest from around the world,
auctioneers have revealed.
First-edition books, works of art and furniture, and other gems
from Greenway House, in Churston, near Brixham, will be sold at a
special auction on Tuesday.
Dame Agatha felt compelled to buy the Greenway estate in 1938
after learning it was to be broken up and sold.
Greenway in turn became a much loved holiday home and retreat for
the author, who spent much of her relaxation time there,
particularly in the summer months, until her death in 1976.
The house and gardens are now owned by the National Trust, having
been gifted to it by Dame ...
