Plymouth University has appointed a new leader following the
tragic sudden death of Professor Levinsky who was electrocuted on New
Year's Day.
Professor Steve Newstead is to take over the reins as Acting Vice-
Chancellor at the institute from June 1 until a permanent appointment
is made and a successor is in post.
With a distinguished career in psychology, and over 100 published
papers, books and chapters to his name, Prof Newstead has worked at
the university - and its predecessor organisations - for over 30
years, including roles as head of department, Dean, Pro Vice-
Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
