Some Montgomery County supporters of Ross Perot agreed last
night to help form a third political party in Maryland and rejected
efforts to get the Texas billionaire's name off the Nov. 3
presidential election ballot.
Meeting at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, about 150
Perot supporters voiced hope that the third party would force
Democratic and Republican candidates to face what the Perot backers
consider essential issues, such as jobs and the federal budget
deficit.
The group soundly rejected a suggestion by Maryland Gov. William
Donald Schaefer that Perot's name be removed from the Maryland
