DAYTON -- University of Dayton basketball coach Brian Gregory knows his team has nobody to blame but itself for not making the NCAA tournament last season, having frittered away a promising start in nonconference play with a mediocre showing in the Atlantic 10.

But Gregory wonders whether the Flyers would have helped themselves all that much even with a better finish in league competition.
