Chris Iwelumo finally broke City's brave resistance with a
dramatic late winner at Ashton Gate.
The Robins had seemed set to continue their unbeaten home league
record after surviving heavy pressure.
But Charlton managed to find a way through with a minute of
normal time remaining, former Colchester striker Iwelumo meeting
Andy Reid's cross from the left with a firm header from six yards
out.
His goal may have been harsh on Adriano Basso, who had stood
between City and defeat for much of the game, but it was no more
than the visitors deserved.
