SALTSBURG -- Most of the time, an 18-12 football game with 1:27
remaining in the fourth quarter would be far from over. But with
that much time remaining in last Friday's game between Saltsburg and
Union, it was finished. Literally.
That's because the Golden Knights (1-9) of Rimersburg, walked off
the field with 1:27 left in the fourth quarter as the Trojans (2-8)
held onto an 18-12 lead.
Union coach Tom Kidder elected to have his team forfeit the final
1:27 of play after frustrations boiled over for the Golden Knights
when Saltsburg's Mitchell Adams intercepted a pass that virtually
sealed the victory for the Trojans.
