Maurice R. "Hank" Greenberg, former chief executive of American
International Group, said Friday that he was considering "strategic
alternatives" to increase the value of his remaining shares in the
insurance company.
Greenberg said in a regulatory filing that he plans to hold
discussions with other major shareholders.
There was speculation that Greenberg might make a bid for the
company or parts of it. A spokesman declined to comment.
Greenberg was forced out of AIG, the world's largest insurer, in
2005 over allegations of fraudulent business practices. Greenberg
has denied wrongdoing.
