Borrowers are unlikely to benefit from lower interest rates this week as the economy remains resilient despite recent financial market turmoil, experts predict.

The Bank of England's nine-strong Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) begins its two-day meeting on Wednesday with most economists expecting interest rates to be held at 5.75 per cent for the fourth month in a row.
