A VIGIL has been held in memory of murdered Leeds University
exchange student Meredith Kurcher.
Staff and students at Leeds University gathered to pay their
respects to the 21-year-old who was found dead in her bedroom in the
central city Italian city of Perugia last week.
The vigil began with a walk from Leeds University's Parkinson
steps to Tetley Gardens where flowers were laid and a book of
condolence opened.
A spokesman for the university's Italian department said: "The
whole department is in shock that such a terrible thing should have
happened.
"We will remember Meredith as a beautiful, clever and happy
young woman, who was serious about her studies and popular with her
peers."
