THE famous Westwood, overlooking the historic East Yorkshire
minister town of Beverley, has been the picturesque setting for the
racecourse since 1690.
There are 19 scheduled racedays on the Flat at Beverley in 2002,
including a special new evening fixture on Friday, July 12, which
will take place after the Queen has attended the racecourse during
the afternoon as part of her visit to the region celebrating the
Golden Jubilee of her reign.
Beverley's season runs from April to September, the most valuable
race being the Listed Hilary Needler Trophy, on Wednesday evening,
June 5.
