Article: Carpenter: Only Now Counts; New Capital Has No Interest in the Old Capital

Bobby Carpenter still has plenty of friends in the Washington area from his intial go-round with the Capitals. He never sold his house in Crofton and frequently visited those friends during the six summers he was playing elsewhere. So if there is any more reminiscing to do now that he's back, it will be with them, thank you very much.

As for the media and fans, he will be looking at the present and future.

Carpenter was asked Tuesday if it is strange returning to the Capitals' training camp. "I don't think so because everything has changed so much," he said. "We're not in the same rink, there are different people and a whole different way of going about things."
