Article: Car club scheme open for business

A RURAL car club bringing cheap and convenient transport to households without cars was declared open for business yesterday.

Four cars will be available to residents for discounted hire in the scheme. It is being managed by Richmondshire Council for Voluntary Services (RCVS).

Citroen C3 vehicles will be stationed in Richmond, Catterick Village, Catterick Garrison and Leyburn.

At yesterday's launch of the scheme, Richmondshire MP William Hague described the Cars4U project as a "fantastic idea".

He said: "I'm sure this scheme will be well received - this is a perfect area in which to have a car club.
