BARNARD Castle play at the town's Tenfields site where there's been teams of varying age groups based since the 1930s.

However, Barnard Castle FC disbanded the senior team in 1998/99 when it was decided to concentrate on junior football. The club has since received the prestigious Charter Standard Award from the FA, while most of their managers have completed level one coaching with the Durham County FA.

Using players that had come through the club's junior ranks, Barnard Castle reformed the senior team last season and they entered the Longhorn Hardware Darlington and District League. The young side found the first season difficult, winning only three games and being knocked out of each cup ...
