FIVE companies and three individuals in the North-East and North
Yorkshire are celebrating today after picking up a Queen's Award for
Enterprise.Awards have gone to firms as diverse as a bioscience
specialist that exports to 20 countries across five continents, to a
manufacturer of cast rolls and a company that makes chemical
absorbers.Individuals who have picked up a Queen's Award for
Enterprise Promotion include Terry Owens, from Middlesbrough,
Geoffrey Ford, from South Shields, and Caroline Theobald, from
Newcastle.The only firm to pick up a Queen's Award for Enterprise in
the innovation category was the marine and protective coatings arm of
