Article: Data terminals in patrol cars soon

POLICE patrol cars will soon be equipped with data terminals which will enable policemen to respond faster to a particular situation.

For example, if a policeman spots a vehicle being driven suspiciously, he can punch in the registration number into the terminal and within seconds, the particulars will be made available.

The Malay Mail learnt that the terminals would be installed in new patrol cars on implementation of a police computerisation project, including the Police Reporting System (PRS).

The force has been allocated about 700 Proton Waja to replace old patrol cars, most of which are Proton Wira and Iswara.
