Article: All about Chang and Eng, the original Siamese twins

THEY were known as the United Brothers, for that was what they were.

Chang and Eng, who later adopted the Anglophile surname Bunker, were the original Siamese twins, joined at birth.

The longest lived Siamese twins, too. Both of them died three hours apart when they were aged 62 in 1874.

Between them they fathered 21 children, and have thousands of descendants around the United States, where they emigrated and made their fortunes.

Chang and Eng have been documented in many books and articles, and a few years ago, became the subject of a musical based on their life story.
