IPOH: The police will focus on fighting violent crimes this year
in view of the increase in such crimes in 2003.
Ipoh OCPD Assistant Commissioner Ismail Abdullah said violent
crimes include robbery, rape, assault and fights.
"Although Ipoh's crime rate has dipped in the past three years,
violent crimes have increased. This will be our focus this year," he
said during a Press conference yesterday.
Rape incidents have increased by 11, making the count 326 cases
while robbery cases went up by 18 counts to 791 cases.
