IN East Malaysia, the offspring of Barisan Nasional/Alliance
freedom fighters instrumental in forming Malaysia on Sept 16, 1963,
are rising up to the Opposition challenge.

uncontested in Kapit, is the grandson of Sarawakian independence
leader Tun Jugah Barieng.
* Penampang Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Donald Mojuntin is
the son of abah independence leader Datuk Peter Mojuntin, who was
together with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president Datuk Seri Joseph
Pairin Kitingan, a founder member of the now defunct Parti Berjaya in
1975.
