WITH just about three months to go for companies listed on the
Malaysia Securities Exchange Bhd (MSEB) to comply with the minimum
paid-up capital requirement, those with the barest share capital
spread are once again being traded heavily on the exchange.
Investors are betting that these companies may soon announce
corporate plans to push up their capital base because failure to do
so could mean that they would come under the "Under-capitalised"
sector.
On the main board, six companies have yet to comply with the
requirement, namely Inch Kenneth Kajang Rubber plc, Kluang Rubber Co
Malaya Bhd, Kramat Tin Dredging Bhd, Kuchai Development Bhd, Sungei
Bagan Rubber Co (M) Bhd and The Ayer Molek ...
