Article: Two charged with `misleading' SC

KUALA LUMPUR: An accountant and an auditor were each charged with four counts of providing false information to the Securities Commission (SC) regarding the usage of funds amounting to RM16.4 million.

At the Sessions court here yesterday, Tan Kam Sang, 37, formerly with the now de-listed Kiara Emas Asia Industries Bhd, and T. Ravandran, 52, a partner of Messrs Arthur Andersen & Co, pleaded not guilty to all the charges against them.

Both are alleged to have submitted false information to the SC regarding Kiara Emas Asia which had made an application to the SC on July 16, 1996 to raise funds from the public.

Tan and Ravindran allegedly committed the offence between Sept 30, 1997 to Oct 13, ...
