Article: Advance Agro sees 7pc Malaysian sales growth

BANGKOK: Advance Agro pcl, Thailand's biggest publicly-traded paper maker, expects its Malaysian sales to grow by as much 7 per cent this year, said its executive vice president, Charnvit Jarusombathi.

"Last year, sales in Malaysia were RM200 million ... we are optimistic of improving on that figure," said Charnvit in his office in the outskirts of Bangkok.

In ringgit terms, the Thai entity at the group level had posted sales of RM1.62 billion, while net income was RM137 million for the financial year ended Dec 31 2003, data obtained from Bloomberg showed.

A 7 per cent growth in sales should match Malaysia's US$103 billion (US$1 = RM3.80) economy's expected growth rate of between 6 per cent ...
