Article: Donations hit RM12.3 million in just four days

KUALA LUMPUR: The great generosity of Malaysians helped the Malaysian Tsunami Disaster Fund surpass the RM10 million mark yesterday.

The fund now stands at RM12.3 million, merely four days after it was launched by the New Straits Times and Berita Harian with the co- operation of TV3 and 8TV.

Among the biggest donors yesterday were Berjaya Group Berhad with RM350,000 and Tanjong Public Limited Company with RM300,000.

Tanjong chairman Datuk Khoo Eng Choo said the company sympathised with the victims of the tragedy.

"We sympathise with the families who are in mourning. We hope our contribution will help ease their suffering," he said.
