CORPORATES may delay implementing script issues such as rights and
private placement deals announced over the last six months because
the current weak market condition has pushed down their share prices.
A lower share price, will force companies to either issue more
shares or change the placement or rights issue price in order to
achieve the targeted proceeds for the exercise.
"They are unlikely to do that, if they feel that the market is
unwilling to absorb the new issues," said an analyst.
The benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index has fallen 3.77 per
cent, or 44.03 points, since the beginning of the year to close at
869.81 points yesterday.
