KUALA LUMPUR: For Thomas John Bata, 91, there is nothing more satisfying

than to be able to touch people's lives through footwear and charity work.

In an interview here yesterday, the son of Bata Shoes Organisation's

founder, Tomas Bata, revealed the secrets of the company's success and

his own good health.

Accompanied by four important figures from his global organisation,

Bata also talked about his late father's contributions to the community,

his interests in sports and his involvement with the education and

environment sectors.
