Article: Steel wool found in noodle soup

KUALA LUMPUR: Pork noodles used to be the favourite dish for housewife Koh Kwee Kim, 39, and her son.

Now, however, they are having second thoughts.

Koh said her son, Wong Soon Weng, 12, nearly swallowed a strand of steel wool found in the noodle soup while having breakfast at a coffee shop in Brickfields on Tuesday morning.

The mother and son from Jalan Thamby Abdullah had gone to the nearby coffee shop for breakfast and shared a bowl of noodles.

"Halfway through, Soon Weng bit into something hard and said his teeth were hurting. We were shocked to see a strand of steel wool in his mouth. His gums were bleeding too," said Koh.
