DEAR Editor,

THE Seremban Municipal Council seems to be going on a tree cutting campaign.

In certain parts of the town, numerous fully grown matured trees on main roads and roads leading to housing estates have been chopped down by contractors engaged by the council.

There should be a policy to protect these trees even when they are in the way of development.

Recently, it was reported that the Housing and Local Government Ministry is revitalising its `Green the Nation' campaign and aims to plant 20 million trees by 2020.
