Article: Johor lion dance troupes take top spots

MALAYSIA's lion dance troupes took the first and second spots in the 50 Years of Nationhood World Lion Dance Invitation Championships 2007 on Sunday.

World renowned, Kun Seng Keng Dragon and Lion Dance Association of Muar took home the grand prize of US$10,000 (about RM35,000) and a trophy after impressing the crowd with their moves which include a 180-degree complicated turn.

The association had won 21 international and 36 national competitions, including the Genting World Lion Dance Championship.

Second place went to Goh Chor Wushu Arts Association's lion dance troupe from Segamat, Johor, and bagged US$5,000 and a trophy.
