Thomas Rafferty, 91, WWII veteran

BEVERLY - Thomas G. Rafferty, a World War II veteran, died last Thursday in the Essex Park Nursing Home. He was 91.

Born in Woburn, Mr. Rafferty was raised and educated in Lynn.

He served in the Navy during the war. After being discharged, he was employed for 35 years at the Leggett and Platt Co. in Lawrence. He retired as plant superintendent in 1981.

Prior to moving to Beverly in 1991, Mr. Rafferty had lived in Peabody for 40 years.

He leaves a daughter, Donna Ellis of Peabody; two sons, Thomas of Greenville, N.H., and Brian of Boxford; a sister, Claire Hosman of Salem; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and ...
