Article: Chinese herbal medicine gains degree of respectability

THE first masters degree in Chinese herbal medicine in the country is to be offered by an independent Yorkshire college.

From September students at the Northern College of Acupuncture, in York, will be able to enrol on the four-year course.

The creation of a significant academic qualification in Chinese herbal medicine is a sign of the growing popularity of alternatives to conventional medicine.

Tutors also hope it will help give doctors confidence to work with those practising alternative treatments.
