SCORES of flights were cancelled or delayed yesterday after the
country's air traffic control system crashed and brought chaos to
airports.
Queues built up at airport check-in desks after the National Air
Traffic Services' (Nats) system failed at 6am yesterday and
disruption continued throughout the day, even though it was running
again within an hour.
One flight was cancelled at Leeds Bradford Airport with delays
ranging from 10 to 45 minutes, while 100 flights were held up by up
to more than an hour at Manchester Airport.
At Humberside Airport two early morning flights were delayed by an
hour and re-routed to prevent any further hold-up, with some ...
