Man arrives back at the Moon again today - or, at least, man-made machines do - after the slowest space mission ever.

And when the pictures start coming back, Yorkshire scientists could be first to shout Eureka!

Today, Moon gravity should pull a European space-craft called Smart 1 out of its distant circling of the Earth and into a new orbit around our familiar satellite rock.

Smart (Small Missions for Advanced Research in Technology) 1 will move further into that orbit over the weekend and is due to make final adjustments, onto the best course for making observations, on Monday night.

This marks the end of a 14-month journey and success for the first live trial of a new kind ...
