MORE than 200 civic leaders will converge on Bradford next week
after the city was selected to host this year's Yorkshire Day
celebrations.
Civic heads and Yorkshire Society members from across the region
will gather at City Hall on August 1 for a reception, before
embarking on a procession through the streets to mark one of the most
significant dates in the region's calendar.
Bradford was last chosen to host Yorkshire Day in 1997, when it
celebrated its 100th anniversary as a city, and organisers were keen
to return to the city as the Yorkshire Society celebrates its 25th
anniversary this year.
The guests will march from City Hall to Bradford Cathedral, some
