Fontaine C. Bradley, 87, a retired senior partner of the
Covington & Burling law firm, died of a heart ailment April 22 at
his home in Washington.
Mr. Bradley was named an associate at Covington and Burling in
1925, the year he graduated from George Washington University's law
school. He practiced there for the next 65 years.
Among his clients were The Washington Post Co., for which he
handled libel cases, real estate matters and other work, and the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, for which he
served as principal outside counsel for many years.
Mr. Bradley, a sixth-generation Washingtonian, was a native of
the District and graduate of the old Western High School. He ...
