YORKSHIRE oil business Bayford & Co has spun off its fuel card division as an independent company and plans to grow the operation by making further acquisitions.

The Fuelcard Company UK manages more than 300m litres of fuel a year for customers nationwide.

The business offers fuel cards, used to pay for fuel and other items at selected petrol stations, for clients including Routemate, the largest fixed-price fuel card network, Shell, BP and Esso.

Fuel cards are often used by companies with a fleet of vehicles as well as individuals who drive long distances.
