Article: Trike taxi gets a licence to thrill tourists in historic city

SIGHTSEERS in York will soon have a new way to enjoy the city's attractions.

A city limousine company has added a motorised tricycle to its fleet, complete with room on the back for two.

Similar trikes carry passengers elsewhere, including parts of the Lake District, but the vehicle is thought to be the first of its kind in Yorkshire.

The Rewacco HS5i trike is so unusual in York the city council had to hold a special meeting to grant it a licence.

Dave Black, of A1 Limousines in Clifton, said he hoped to run city centre sightseeing tours on the trike, following a circuit around York's Bar Walls, including must-sees such as Clifford's Tower.
