Article: Residents in frame over art gallery upgrade

Residents are being asked to help decide whether a shake-up of Scarborough's cultural quarter merits a [Pounds]5m upgrade of the art gallery or a much more modest scheme.

Consultants were called in to consider the potential of Scarborough Art Gallery to become the town's main exhibition venue for fine art, archaeology, social history and natural history, following the redevelopment of Wood End Museum into a Creative Industries Centre.

After gauging opinion in the town, consultancy firm ABL has produced a report which looks at six options for the gallery building.
