A [Pounds]21.5m trawler, one of the largest ever built on the
Yorkshire Coast and marking a renaissance in boatbuilding in Captain
Cook's old port of Whitby, has been launched.
The vessel, commissioned by leading fishing family Locker Trawlers
from Parkol Marine, will be starting her sea trials early after
Parkol surprised its customers by delivering the boat three months
ahead of the 12-month schedule.
Called Our Lass II, the trawler will enable the family to cast
their nets for prawn and whitefish off the more distant shores of
Scotland, Norway, and the Netherlands.
